We are Kaspar Hamminga & Erik Ringelberg, Dutch surf champions, professional surfers, and certified surf coaches. Together, we are the proud owners of Surfschool Dutch Surf Academy in ‘s-Gravenzande in The Netherlands!
Located between the major cities of The Hague and Rotterdam is the Westland. And here, between the coastal towns of ‘s-Gravenzande and Hoek van Holland, lies the beautiful and tranquil Vlugtenburg beach. This is where our surf school is situated. For us, it’s a magical place because 18 years ago, we started surfing in the North Sea right here.
In 2018, we realized our shared dream: our own surf school.

In a short 5 minute walk from our surfschool you have the option to stay overnight at Camping Vlugtenburg and Saharastay.
I have to say that I'm quite picky when it comes to surf schools, but Surf School Dutch Surf Academy - 's-Gravenzande has it covered! They have an incredibly personal approach, fast and professional feedback and, most importantly, they don't treat you like just another customer on the assembly line. Best people, they are so helpful , nice and friendly. I started this year without knowing anything. Every week I can contact them to get information which day is better to come and they always help me with how to proceed . Both for taking lessons or renting equipements they are the best. Going here was the best moments of my week whole summer . Definately recommend . 10/10

A really top surfing school! Contact is easy and the atmosphere is open and pleasant. I have now had a number of lessons and I can already notice the progress. Get into the water with theory, professional surf teachers and good equipment, highly recommended. If you are lucky, you will also be told after the lesson that some nice photos have been taken :)
A weekend at Sahara stay is the perfect combo with surfing lessons at the Dutch surf Academy. We took advantage of renting equipment and had a lesson. The lesson was super valuable, with useful tips. A nice change from theory and practice in the water. There are professional coaches who will make you feel comfortable in the water!! Contact went smoothly and they are flexible. Enjoyed it very much, thanks a lot Ivan and Erik and everyone else!! We will definitely come back!P.S. and while you're here, be sure to eat pizza at the Pit.
I booked a week of surfing lessons through Sahara Stay, what a great experience! The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed, everyone is very helpful and the lessons are great fun. The instructors are enthusiastic and know how to convey their knowledge and experience well. A good combination of theory, practice and personal attention ensures that you are quickly on the board. Of course you can also rent a board here to brave the waves yourself and they are also there for you if you need help or advice. I will definitely come back! Thanks toppers!
